About

Fifteen years ago a terrorist attack, the worst in the country’s history, took many innocent lives. On the next anniversary of the tragedy, the Yagubov family’s quiet routine falls apart.

A traveller stands at their door. Is he a holy fool, a man who came back to life and found its meaning, or simply a coward? Against the backdrop of a fictional attack, a real revolt breaks out inside a false family: relatives estranged from one another, each speaking their own truth, and no one listening.

On tour: Almaty, Aktau, Aktobe, Karaganda, Taraz, Astana, Atyrau, Kyzylzhar, Taldykorgan, Shymkent, Kyzylorda, Oral and Turkistan.

From stage to screen

In 2025 No37 became a feature film, directed by Zhandos Aibassov with the original stage cast. Fifteen years after a metro bombing that claimed their son, the family lives in mourning; on the anniversary Rasul appears at the door, alive and silent about where he has been.

A full metro station was rebuilt in retro style for the shoot, and the crowd scenes were filmed without CGI. After its release in Kazakhstan the film was presented at the Marché du Film in Cannes in 2026 and signed for worldwide distribution with TVCO.
